Ms Pride Brisbane 2012
Shaz Gerchow
Shaz's interests are politics, social justice, socialising, reading and camping. She has attended every Pride Fair Day except for one, it is her favourite day of the year because it brings our community (and its supporters) together in an atmosphere of celebration. As a self-identified butch she wishes to promote the diversity of our community and wants to encourage acceptance, understanding and compassion. Her alto ego, Beasty Al, may be seen “wooing the ladies” at Scarlet. Congratulations Shaz Gerchow!!

Are you this year's Ms Pride Brisbane?
This is not your typical beauty contest!
We are looking for a woman with charisma, positive energy, sex appeal and confidence. A woman who is savvy, smart and able to represent our Lesbian Community as Ms Pride Brisbane 2012.
Heats will be held at Scarlet on Saturday 28th July and Saturday 25th August. The final will be held at Pride Fair Day on Sunday 16th September. You must be able to attend one (1) heat and the final to compete.
Heats
Round 1
Contestants will wear an outfit they feel "sums them up".
On stage at Scarlet, each of our panel of three (3) judges will ask each contestant a pop question; the question may be fun or controversial and will show our judges how you handle pressure and sensitive topics.
Round 2
Contestants will wear a different outfit they feel "most sexy in".
On stage at Scarlet (on the same night), each of our panel of three (3) judges will ask each contestant a pop question; the question will be serious and will help our judges decide if you will be a good representative for Brisbane Pride Festival.
*2 winners from each heat will move to the final.
Final
Contestants will "dress to impress" the Fair Day crowd.
On stage at Pride Fair Day, each contestant will perform a 1 minute show; it may be a speech, comedy act, dance, song, etc, whatever you feel will show our judges that you should be declared Ms Pride Brisbane 2012 and represent the title throughout the next year.

Major Prize
Whilst the privelege of representing Brisbane Pride Festival and being declared Ms Pride Brisbane 2012 in front of a crowd of thousands is prize enough we also have a major prize for you!

Terms & Conditions/Expectations
Each entrant in the Ms Pride Brisbane competition agrees to the following Terms & Conditions:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must reside in the State of Queensland.
- Must live as a woman.
- Must self-identify as part of the LGBTIQ community.
- Must agree to appear onstage and permit on-stage photographs to be taken of her for the use on the Brisbane Pride Festival and City Lickers websites.
- If she wins, must agree to represent the title throughout her title year and return to the event next year to step aside from her title.
- The foremost duty of the winner is to promote the goals and interests of the Ms Pride Brisbane competition and it’s producers Brisbane Pride Festival and City Lickers in a positive light throughout the year.
- The winner of Ms Pride Brisbane competition will represent Brisbane Pride Festival with integrity and competence, and will be a spokesperson for the Brisbane Pride Festival. As such, one of the most important attributes of any titleholder should be the ability to clearly and effectively communicate what Pride means to them within the LGBTIQ community.
- The winner is required to attend next year’s Ms Pride Brisbane competition to step down from their title. The winner will be invited to judge the competition if they have fulfilled all of their obligations during their title year.
- The winner is encouraged to attend as many LGBTIQ events as they are able. These events provide an excellent opportunity for representing the title, and for outreach, making new contacts and networking.
