Grrlzone Townsville was established in 1994, as an independent Women's and Lesbian Collective to provide safe, fun and diverse Women's entertainment events which support Women in Townsville and Thuringowa NQ.
Grrlzone is involved in a number of differing services within the area, but most notably is the Women's Dance, now known as GrrlSpot.

A Recreational, Outdoor, Social Activity Group for the Older Wiser Gay Women in Townsville and surrounding districts.
For those who are new and want to come along, just look for the purple flag/s. We put small purple flags on the table at dinners and have a big one flying in an obvious place when we are camping or at an event. Some of the ladies will be in purple shirts and some have purple ribbons in their hair., so we can be found easily. So don't be frightened to join us we are very friendly, come up and say hi.Friday 6th March 7pm

The court is booked from 7.15 for 45mins and costs $4 for each player. We have use of the BBQ and the pool. I will be taking the necessary BBQ tools etc and cooking my dinner there if anyone wants to join me.
There are also showers there to wash off the sand. They also have a bar and some snack food for sale

Mardi Gras Dance Party
at the Mansfield Hotel (743 Flinders Street Townsville Q 4810) on Saturday the 14 March from 9.00 pm to 2.00 am with an entry fee of $5.00.
This is a private function and all areas of the hotel are available for women only. There are plenty of car parks, Sovereign Hotel down the road and the Sun Bus stop is across the road.
Also there is NO ATM facility at this venue so please make sure that you have cash on you the nearest ATM is the Sovereign Hotel.

I have picked this location ion as their is plenty of things to do, plenty of space and because it's free to stay.
Some people are going up Thursday arvo, so those that do can stake our claim

We are off to the Charters Towers Music Festival.
Go to the Music Festivals website for further details on it and to purchase tickets. We can stay at the venue or put up the tent in one of our members yards.
If you don't want to camp or pend a night away from home you are more than welcome to just come up for a day trip and socialise nothing is ever far away.
